The following reflects the school’s planned organization of the course. Approximate time allocations may be adjusted while all curriculum expectations and required planned learning are maintained.
| Unit | Title / Major Learning Focus | Approx. Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Measurement and Trigonometry | 30 hours |
| 2 | Data Management | 22 hours |

Assessment uses evidence gathered over time from student work, conversations and observations. The final grade for 2026–2027 is determined as follows:
| Component | Weight | How It Is Determined |
|---|---|---|
| Coursework throughout the course | 65% | Evaluation evidence gathered throughout the course, with special consideration for consistent and more recent demonstrations of achievement. |
| Mandatory written final examination | 25% | Comprehensive written final examination assessing the overall curriculum expectations. |
| Attendance and participation | 10% | Based on meaningful attendance and participation; excused absences do not negatively affect this component. |
Evidence may include applied problem sets, measurement and geometry tasks, data investigations, graphs and statistical analysis, financial case studies, spreadsheet or calculator work, written explanations, tests, conferences and the final written examination.
Students connect mathematical skills to college programs, apprenticeships and careers in business, health sciences, human services, construction, design, skilled trades and other fields.
Transferable skills include numeracy, problem solving, digital tool use, document use, decision making, communication and information management.
